East Bethel is a great town with regards to safety-- as far as I know, we (as a community) haven't had any major crimes committed or anything like that here. I personally love the spacing, housing-wise, because it isn't the kind of place where your house is 10 feet (exaggeration, I know) apart from your neighbor's. There are actual yards here. Acreage. It isn't even close to somewhere you could compare to a major, well-known city, such as Minneapolis.
The only thing I'm not a huge fan of is the fact that we don't have any retail stores within close proximity. It's not very convenient if you only need to run to the grocery store for a couple things & be back in 10 minutes. That is the sacrifice you have to make though if you don't want to be living right next to major developments. Can't complain too much!

The town is very close to the city, but still rooted in farming. There isn't much to do in the area, but there is a few lakes for swimming (some of which have leeches.) There is affordable housing in the area, never too much trouble, and of course the local Lutheran church that might as well be a cult. There isn't a real high-school, even though our population exceeds 10,000 people, but I suppose that's due to the town having an older demographic. The whole town is centered on the highway that runs straight through it, but that highway leads you to the cities where there's actually something going on other than corn fields.
I've lived in East Bethel about my entire life and I wouldn't want anything different! It's such a family friendly area and there isn't MUCH to do, but there are some activity spots, if not, there are some close by. There is so much nature everywhere around and it's easy to find great places to spend the day! The one thing I'd like to see change is the fact that there is no grocery store or drug store close by for about 10 miles each way. It's a trip to get groceries, but it's still a wonderful place!
