Eagle River Reviews

I have been a part time resident of Eagle River since 2001 and am pleasantly surprised by the resurgence in the downtown area. There have been numerous new businesses in the downtown area in the last couple of years and I don’t mean just t-shirt shops. There are several new bar/restaurants that are opening in Eagle River as I write this. The Chamber of Commerce has done a great job of scheduling Art and Craft shows as well as the usual 4 season festivals and antique car and aviation shows in the area. You can come to Eagle River on any weekend throughout the summer and find a festival within a short drive. In the fall there is the Cranberry Festival and in the winter the World’s Championship Snowmobile Derby. My point is that there are activities throughout the year, particularly in the summer. There are great restaurants in the area as well. Small town with a lot going on.

Eagle River is a beautiful place to travel to. Not only is it a premium destination spot but also is a wonderful area to start a family in. The community is very close and is very involved in local charities also supporting the school. Lastly, Eagle River offers peace and quiet, allowing one to fully relax between it's scenery and outdoor activities, it is a place to enjoy the fine things in life!
I was surprised at how overbuilt Eagle River was without any thought to zoning etc. I expected a northwoods feel like St. Germain, Boulder Junction, Minocqua etc. instead just a bit of an over run industrial town. I'm guessing at one time it was a nice town but now little or no "curb appeal".
