Working in Durango
I love Durango! It is set in a beautiful valley that makes it feel cozy and that gives it mountain and hilltop views at all times. It is a very outdoorsy place, both in terms of the people who live there and the surrounding terrain. The Animas River runs right through town which can be used for swimming, rafting, or as just a nice serene feature. There are many trails and activities to do based on the area's history and geography. There is an active community and culture so there is always stuff going on. For a small town, Durango is amazing!
Durango is an awesome town! There are limitless outdoor opportunities. The river runs right through downtown which is not only beautiful, but it's a lot of fun. The downtown area is really cute, and is FULL of great restaurants, bars, breweries, shops, art galleries, etc.
Durango is one of Colorado's best kept secrets. It is a unique area where the mountains meet the desert. The Animas River roars through the middle of town and weaves throughout the valley. We have beautiful hiking trails, hundreds of miles of them in fact, that are immediately accessible in town. Outdoor enthusiasts are at home here, as Durango hosts endless activities such as: hiking, biking, skiing, river rafting, and more. Durango also has coal train that runs from Durango to Silverton everyday and the town is always filled with train whistles that are iconic to the town. The town has a western feel and is full of great opportunities to learn about the "wild west" and the Native American culture, as monuments like Mesa Verde and Canyon of the Ancients are only an hour away. This has been a great and beautiful place to be born and raised and it will always be home in my heart.
