The way I look at it is, I'd rather live here where there is actual sense of community than live in a beautiful neighborhood where no one knows anyone. My experience with living in this area has always been good! I've lived in this area all my life and have made many friends. Often times the neighbors become more like family and the neighborhood is filled with love and genuine care for others. If I could do it all over again, I would choose to live here again. It's very comfortable and close to everything. Although the neighborhood is not the best looking, the community as a whole is better than any place I've known. Having a relationship with those who surround you is something so priceless and precious. This is the best area I could ask to live. I love my neighborhood!

Tucson is a beautiful and unique area. The southwest part of town specifically, where I live, can be a bit of a challenge. Although property values are increasing and the area is expanding and growing, I am still very far from much of the town. With very little highway or interstate systems, getting around (and especially across) town can be very difficult and very time-consuming. Being surrounded by mountains, desert and natural beauty makes Tucson an incredible place to live. However, the corrupt and ineffective local government can at times make it a very difficult place to be a consumer, taxpayer, homeowner and parent.
In many pockets of Tucson, crime is very bad. This is not due to the responsiveness or effectiveness of local law enforcement but more due to local government and poor city planning. Since the city government is very poor managing budgetary expenses and taxpayer dollars, our local police departments and other public servants suffer greatly. The city has a serious shortage of police and this significantly effects their ability to manage crime rates.
