I’ve lived in Downers Grove my entire life and am so grateful! The downtown area is always buzzing, with an excellent movie theater, restaurants, and a wonderful public library I’ve called home since I was little. It’s not too far from Chicago, and the train station in Downers Grove makes it easy to visit as well. It does get very cold here in the winter though, but there’s plenty of places to go to stay out of the cold and still have a good time!

Such a great community to live in! Clean, friendly neighborhoods, great schools and activities! I feel safe living here-- the police are great, I can walk around my neighborhood without worry... Definitely recommending!
Downers Grove encompasses the typical middle-class suburban environment with the benefit of being half an hour away from one of the largest cities in the United States. It's a great place to raise a family since the public schools are well ranked, and the neighborhoods are very safe. The only downside is that life can become monotonous. There are annual festivities like car shows and the Bonfield express on Thanksgiving, but it's rare for any new events or excitement to take place. Perhaps the most entertaining even is the annual summer Rotary Fest, but even that has been dwindling down the past few years.
