Doral is a clean and safe environment with lots of parks and a free trolley service. It is a crossroads of many different cultures from South America, with the majority of its citizens Venezuelan. It is sometimes difficult to communicate with neighbors and businesses as a result of the language barrier and cultural differences. It is also difficult to find space and a majority of residents live in townhouses or apartments. For the most part, however, it is a family-friendly place with many benefits!
Overall, Doral is very convenient to live in. Everything from the supermarkets to even the mall are minutes away. One can also walk to their destination without much distance.
I would say however that biking is not usually safe because of occasional careless drivers. Another thing is that apartments are being built constantly.
But nevertheless, Doral is a safe place to live. Crime rate is low and the quality of life is very good.

Doral's biggest quality is the familiarity it provides to Hispanics because of the large population of Hispanics that reside in the area. Particularly, Venezuelans, Colombians, and even Brazilians are known for residing here; oftentimes, attracting even more of these Hispanics to the area. As an immigrant, Doral provides the comfort of having my language and culture nearby even when I am much too far away from my country. Despite the great benefits this familiarity provides, it also has its disadvantages. For instance, many students are hiding behind this safety blanket - using the presence of their language and culture as an excuse to stop trying to assimilate to the American culture. Particularly, many kids my age have given up on learning English, claiming that they do not have a reason to learn the language since they will remain in the area in the future. Ultimately, this way of thinking is incredibly detrimental to them even if they are not aware of that yet.
