The school districts in Dix Hills are very good, they have intelligent staff members and access to a variety of resources. The schools themselves are diverse due to the variety of neighborhoods within the Half Hollow Hills school district. The neighborhood is very safe, and there are many families with children of all different ages. The neighboring towns like Huntington offer access to nightlife and restaurants.

We recently moved to Dix hills for the school district for our children. My son attends Park Shore Preschool, which is a great school that teaches a STEAM-based curriculum. I love the facilities in this area, such as the schools and the library. The neighborhoods are very nice with spacious lands. There is also diversity in this area which I value as well. The only thing I wish is that it's further east than I would prefer from the city. I used to live in Nassau county, and I feel that it was more centrally located. I am still exploring this area and am sure I will find more things that appeal to our family.
Long Island is a beautiful place to live with an abundance of activities. However the cost of living on Long Island between taxes, rent, insurance, and overall cost of goods is incredibly high. Due to this, I find that an incredible amount of my generation are relocating to more affordable locations.
