Nice quiet little town. Great, affordable alternative to dumpy Watertown. Nice amenities for a small town include a great market, laundry mat and diner. Great access to the Bkack River for boating, kayaking and fishing.
Dexter is a wonderful little village. It is busier in the summer, being on the Black River. There are many activities to participate in, including boating, swimming, hiking, bike riding and fishing. The winter months are for sledding, snowmobiling, ice fishing and hunting. It is quiet and friendly. I feel safe and it was a great place for me, a single mother, to raise my son. Right now there is nothing I would want to change.
The quiet and beautiful area. Summer and winter activities with water all around. Quiet nights and small town feel. More shops would be nice.
