We lived in Des Peres for 25 years and loved living there. The city officials are extremely accessible and friendly. Des Peres has the best stores. And since it is right on I-270, you can get anywhere in the metro in 20 minutes.

It is a very good area because it is very close to Manchester road which means we are in close proximity to a lot of stores and restaurants. There are many really good school districts which means I get to go to a good school that is close by. There are many families in the area as well so it has a really good neighborhood on every street.
There isn't a whole lot of abandoned properties in my area of town, but downtown there are many. Downtown is not the best place to live but the suburbs surrounding the city are affordable and great!
