We are early 30's professionals who recently moved to Derwood, MD. We in the Candlewood Park area of Derwood and absolutely love it. Everyone is extremely friendly, and there are so many outdoor parks, paths, and places to explore. Lake Needwood is a great place to kayak, hike, and more. Derwood is really safe, and people are extremely active.

Derwood is very family-friendly and has a great education system! This neighborhood is great for upcoming families.
Honestly, It is a nice area, but there isn't much of anything to do except drink at the bar. It is relatively safe, but there are sometimes car accidents and some minimal criminal activity. Great place to raise children, but surrounding areas outside of Derwood have plenty of crime. I think you guys should figure out how to add more life to the area and less crime.
