Derby is a great family-friendly place to live. There are plenty of jobs for teenagers, and most of the residents work in Wichita which is only twenty-thirty minutes away. There are many parks and great school around for younger kids, there is even a water park! Derby is a great place to live and raise a family.

Grew up in Derby, so it is home. Moved away and came back. However, it’s not the same. It has grown so much! Not necessarily a bad thing. There is so much here it’s convenient for shopping without having to go to Wichita. Very nice town, most residents take great pride in their property and community. Schools seem to have declined some since I attended, again I believe because of the rapid growth. Nice place to live!
I am Jacquelynn Davis and i come from 4 generations of Family that has seen Derby grow from a little seed to a tree. Now my children are going to be part of the family tradition. My great grandma then my grandpa then my mother and fathers side of the family then my generation now my 2 your old twins generation, and let me tell you its %100 the best place to grow up in. I remember being a teenage and not understanding the value of the town, in other words being a rebel! But never did i have to worry about getting lost when me and my friends would walk to the movies, or play hide and go seek down the whole neighbor hood, having block parties, staying out past dark and called in the house for dinner. Once a year we would have Derby Days. The carnival is straight out of a story book! It is the coziness of a little suburban town but yet all the stores and convenience of the big old city! Derby is were i would want my children to thrive and grown from.
