Denton is the perfect town to experience a small town with big aspirations. The college population in Denton creates a culture of creative appreciation, whether it be of art, music, amazing food, or simply the culture of its citizens. The most beautiful historic things about Denton are its museums and public buildings near downtown, as well as the small restaurants and shops that have been here for years and support thriving communities.
Like all growing cities, there is a tendency for large corporations and gentrification to attempt to expand the economic value of the town. It's important that Denton and its citizens continue to support small businesses and sites that make the city great!

Denton is a great town for schools and community events. My experience as a college student their has been amazing. Many places are walking distance from campus and the community businesses are always hosting events to help out. Great atmosphere! However, the construction in the area gets tiring.
Denton, Texas is a spectacular town that is a mixture of college town and family living. From the downtown square and their old-time-y businesses to the new shopping areas in northern Denton. I attend the University of North Texas and the campus is gorgeous. Although the roads around the campus need lots of love. Their is a bit of construction on I35 that runs right through the town, but it is going quickly. Everything is cute, has loads of character, and family friendly while still offering places to go for college-aged students. There is parks, recreational areas, and there is bars and lots and lots of places to grab some grub. Now, the food. OH the food! From regular fast food chains to high end restaurants for date night. There is breakfast and brunch places that smash your pancake and mimosa craving and there is late night greasy corner store for all your late night cravings. Denton truly has everything you could need to survive college or raise a family.
