Nice conservative Texan town. It is technically a suburb, but locals know this is not the case because it is a different county, different people from the metroplex. Love the Trump signs in Denton county!
Denton is a town full of rich history and culture. With their multitudes of different restaurants showcasing different culture's food, it is a great place to find any food you want to try. Plus, being the home of the University of North Texas it becomes a fun, safe, and affordable place for college students who want to live off-campus. Personally, I live just north of the university in the Razor Ranch neighborhood and I could not be happier with the short bike ride I have to the school. Besides Denton being a great place it does have one downside. The infrastructure of the roads is very poor, but the city is working on repairing the roads and making it a smoother ride for those who drive around Denton daily. After living here in Denton for almost two years I can say that this city is an excellent place for families and students alike who want to reap the benefits of this great city.
My family and I moved from South Florida to Denton Texas four years ago. Since living here, I have found that family life is extremely safe and healthy. The schools are excellent and education choices are available for growing families. Additionally, it an excellent city to start a home based or small business. There are many options in the school system for sports and other extra curriculum activities. Most of the city will give you that small town feel but in a fairly big city. The crime rate is low in the city of Denton as well as the county. I would highly recommend Denton, Texas for education, family, business growth, safe living, low crime, college living, and for the housing market.
