Living in Deer Park for the past 10 years has been very pleasurable for me. Deer Park is known to be a safe environment with kind and diverse folks from different backgrounds. Living in a fairly diverse town, I have been able to learn about different cultures and customs. Since people in Deer Park are very close and friendly, we are able to coexist with each other despite our differences, and that is a major factor that truly determined my thoughts about Deer Park. Not to mention, my school district is also a safe and great learning environment also. It is evident that the people at the school board are passionate and dedicated to the education and safety of its students. For example, they promote a variety of community service and extra-curricular activities to ensure its students are active and responsible members of Deer Park. Students taking on these endeavors, adds to Deer Parks pleasurable and friendly environment.
Deer Park Ave. has pretty much everything you could possibly need, from supermarkets to fast food, to Michael's Craft Store, and gas stations, making it extremely convenient. However, the town is not that walkable. Some neighborhoods within Deer Park are far safer and nice than others, same goes for the public schools. The elementary schools are excellent, the intermediate and middle schools are poor, the high school is about average.
