My review is of the Quad City area which includes Davenport, Bettendorf, East Moline, Moline and Rock Island. I would give it a -1 star if possible. Don't trust the people. People are rude and lie to you. I've had several businesses screw me out of money for poor workmanship or just not doing what they said they could do.
The people are terrible drivers. You have to really drive defensively as no one remembers the rules of the road. Everybody seems to be out for themselves and you better get out of their way. Where are the police when you need them?
Don't go out at night as it is not safe.
Be sure to get a security system for your home and keep your doors and windows locked - even when you are home.
Watch out for drive by shootings.
There may be a few good people there but they are far and few between.
Most of the people I have dealt with are rude and inconsiderate. Especially, during this time of social distancing. They don't properly wear their masks & don't know what 6 ft is.

Davenport is psychologically disturbing in the way they handle their affairs or emergency situations. Crime goes on and they look to the public for help, people and families go hungry. There are not enough homeless shelters to handle a crisis, like a 🔥. Too many business in one area to go around. Mostly all area stores close before it gets dark like your a little child. People here are very lazy and or don't care about anyone else. The food is extremely high. They get mad when you file formal complaints against their employees, employers or even the supervisors when they have made serious errors. The have a terrible transportation system that shuts the buses down by 7pm, they run on every other hour for every hour and a half. It's hard for people to maintain employment without a vehicle here. There is nothing exciting to do, never a carnival, musical concert, or real fun for families. It is dreadful living and depressing atmosphere. The apartments are right next to graveyards.
Let me put it this way whatever you do don't . Move to Davenport it the worst and most Dangerous place to live. Some of the people there have no regards for other people . I had someone threaten me once when used to live there . People drive like animals there's always something terrible happening . There while there are some nice people living there . Is the only good thing about that town . But all honesty take it from me don't live there . Luckily I don't live there anymore and have no intention on going back .
We have lived here for 40 years and the last few have been the worst. The last couple years suck big time. If you call the police, they may or probably won't come. It's been almost a month since we have had drive by. If you like to sleep at night, you can forget it. Fire works start around 5 pm and go on to 3 am since the powers to be gave the ok for the use of them. So, if I didn't own my home and wasn't retired, I wouldn't be living in this one horse town.
This is hands down one of the trashiest and depressing places I've ever lived in, and I've been all over the country. Honestly worse than living in a third world country.
Extremely poor, illiterate, and depressed people trying to get out of there and don't have the money for it. Junkies, alcoholics, and aggressive drivers. Young kids leave right after high school, and never look back. And then to top if off everything is more expensive than major cities in the US. What a jungle! Keep driving, Not sure why you need all those huge gas stations for, on every corner?

Moved from east coast to work for John Deere for 2 years. The job was great, but Davenport and the quad-cities was not for me. Infrastructure is falling apart, taxes were double from the DC area, only real hospital is 50 miles away in Iowa City (and I was not impressed with it), don't drink the water, shopping very limited, boring place to live, real estate market depressed, limited internet offerings-all with data caps. Only positive is that people are friendly. My advice, - avoid this place.
The crime in Davenport is getting worse and worse because of all the shootings and car accidents as well as other crimes. Some areas are a little safer than others, but one day there might come a time when everything is total madness. Police are visible at times because there is so much going on the can't answer the call right away.My biggest concern is the saftey of children and people who live around the areas with a lot of violence.
