I love the diversity of Davenport! Every month there are festivals celebrating cultures and community. There are plenty of free activities for families and friends. The Mississippi river provides a beautiful backdrop to the city landscape. We moved here for this very purpose. The close proximity to Chicago and Des Moines gives us the opportunity to have a big city experience while living in a small town. Davenport has good hospitals and access to many universities. The only negative I would say is we lack an AmTrak station. Hopefully it will be coming soon.

I've lived here for over 10 years now. I moved here after I graduated high school. This town is very easy to navigate and there is no shortage of great places for food, social life, meeting people and shopping! Growing up we would come to Davenport for different things, like family or shows at the current iWireless Center. My wife also moved about 8 years ago and she's loved this town as well ever since!
I like the sense of community that Davenport provides as being a part of the Quad Cities. There are plenty of places to eat, go for entertainment, go for recreation, etc all without the excessive congestion and inflated prices of a big city. There are nicer ares of Davenport and there are not so nice areas, but living expenses are affordable in decent areas for lower middle class people and families. The Davenport school system is okay, but not nearly as good as it's neighboring city, Bettendorf.
