The crime rate has really been on the increase in the past several years. There are a lot of areas that are no longer safe. There are businesses that have left and the mall is almost non existence.

My experience living in this area has been pretty bad. I live here because it's close to both mine and my husbands family, and we both hold jobs here. My job is currently letting a lot of people go due to downsizing, it is very scary for my family that we may become a 1 income family. We need both incomes to survive. I would rank this area in the lowest 10% of the country, it is not a place many want to live. I hope that in the future crime rates drop, and employment opportunities arise.
Danville has had a lot of shootings recently and thefts. There are quite a few of cops patrolling, but just doesn't seem to work. There are a lot of gang fights.
