In Custer, the community is so small and tightly knit that everyone and anyone can get along. They welcome new comers in with open arms and everyone in the community always has a smile on their face. No matter what gender, race, or sexual orientation you have Custer could be the place for you!

I have grown up in Custer, SD, and have really grown to appreciate its quality. The Black Hills are a wonderful place to grow up. I was able to enjoy the outdoors through every season. Custer is welcoming and warm. The town strives to please all its citizens.
Jobs are kind of scarce, small town atmosphere. Tourist town from April-Oct. Surrounded by pine trees and lakes. Plenty of activities to do such as boating, hiking, skiing, snowmobile riding, and hunting. I have not worked outside of the state, so have nothing to compare to.
