Cupertino is a town just west of San Jose holding the headquarters of Apple. Most families here live in single-family homes however there are quite a lot of apartments here due to the demand. People come here primarily for good school districts and high-paying job opportunities in technology.
Overall, I found the vibe of the city to really nice as there are a lot of complexes and outdoor shopping areas. Right outside Cupertino High School is an outdoor complex called Main Street which is similar to a plaza. Additionally, a new outdoor shopping mall is being planned will give rise to additional modernization of the city.
A couple of miles to the west can easily take someone on a nature hike. There are nice trails such as the Black Mountain Trail near the area for a nice retreat.
Some areas for improvement would include finding a way to make the development of the shopping complex to support the businesses of local firms as well as not influencing the direction of school traffic.

I’ve lived in the South Bay (Silicon Valley) 60 plus years. I’ve lived in Cupertino now for a little over two years.
This city is “invested” with mockingbirds. Their very loud frantic, hysterical chirping is very annoying. We have one that occupies the telephone/electrical pole all day long. Even with the windows closed it can still be heard.
Starting as early as dawn and continuing until dark. My wife and I walk around the neighborhoods and they can be heard everywhere. I’ve lived in three other places in the area and have never heard these before moving here. The other thing with noise are the helicopters that fly over this city. I’ve had helicopters circling above the mostly residential area I live in at 10:30 PM until as late as midnight. Some are flying by, but some circle the area many times. Nice during the summer when you’d like to have your windows open after a hot day. Two years here and I’ve heard more helicopters than the previous 58 years.

Cupertino can be considered a pretty nice area, however it is not very diverse and is predominantly asian. If you look into any neighborhood in Cupertino you may find that it is dominated by Southeast Asians and East Asians. As a result, there are so many amazing choices for Asian cuisine in Cupertino. And the parks and schools around the area are decent as well. I enjoyed my time in my public elementary school a lot and though I went to private school for middle and high school, my friends tell me that they have had good experiences. The people are friendly and welcoming. Last but not least, it's a great area for people who walk their dogs or like taking strolls out by themselves or with family.
