I enjoy going to the lake and being close to a local drive in. The taxes are high and the school system is not the best.
Moved here 30+ years ago to raise my family. Great experience with school system and community programs including scouts, sports, town-wide events,,recreation and library. Plenty of religious opportunities as well. I have definitely watched it expand, not all in a positive way. Easy access to major roads and highways for medical, shopping and entertainment in nearby cities.
A very quiet, peaceful town just a short drive from the University of Connecticut. Its a great town to raise a family
I love this town because of its quaint environment. It is a rural town with quick accessibility to grocery stores, shopping centers, etc.
A large downside to Coventry is the lack of attractions. I would say the schools are pretty decent, but there is a large vape and drug issue going on through the middle and high school right now. The town overall is pretty safe and everyone is nice.
Coventry is a very nice town because it has the perfect amount of seclusion and community. Community events like the farmer's market and school sports bring the town close, but the homes allow whatever privacy its owner desires. It is also very close to UCONN (perfect for families/students), and Hartford, CT, so for those wanting to experience faster moving lifestyles for some time but live in a small town, they can still travel to those places fairly easily.
I recently moed here from Virginia and love it. It is a beautiful place to lie and a great place to raise a family.
I moved here a year ago this passed November and it was the best decision I could have made for my family. I have two sons on the Autism spectrum and after coming here to Coventry, CT I have seen a drastic improvement in their over all well-being way beyond what I could have ever hoped for. We live in the lake area with easy access to the town's beautiful lake and the local state forest which is perfect for our walks together. Our neighbors and community have been so helpful and welcoming in making my family and I feel right at home. We're truly blessed to be part of such a wonderful area of Connecticut.
I like growing up here. The schools are amazing and the teachers are especially great. The parks and rec department provides great programs like basketball and summer camp that I've enjoyed very much.
Quiet rural community with easy access to all conveniences without having all the traffic & pollution in your backyard. Plenty of open space and quick connections to I-84, 384, Rte 6 & Rte 44.
I love the town of Coventry because it's my home. Growing up,I resented the fact that it was so small, didn't have any fancy attractions or that not much really went on. Now as an adult looking back the things I cherish most about my childhood were the summers we sent on Coventry Lake, the ice cream cones we would get at the Corner Store, or the times I spent playing on the Patriots Park playscape. It may be a small town but the sense of community is astonishing.
It's one of the small towns, with no gangs and very little crime. It is a generally safe area, even in the middle of the night.
A quiet but friendly area, well away from the city but not "out in the sticks"
Taxes continue to go up and cost of living is high. Propeety taxes are ludicris.
A lot of new housing and a lot of smaller older homes for sale
Only a few restaurants in town - 3 are italian
