I've lived here all of my life and have never had an issue with any form of significant crime. The area that I moved to 13 years ago is a quiet, child-friendly neighborhood. It's a small town that is known for the sprawling bayou, which outlines the main street. Driving through, you are met with beautiful crepe myrtle trees that are lined with Christmas lights every year. There's only 6 stores in town including two dollar stores, two liquor stores/gas stations, and two meat stores. The people in this town are friendly and chances are that you're related to them. Most of the town's activities are held at a park. This park was rebuilt and renamed after the passing of a local teacher, Sara Williams. I am sad that I never appreciated the beauty of my hometown until I moved away for 6 months.

Most of my family is from Cottonport and it's a family type of town. Everyone knows one another which makes it a awesome place to be. The only change needed is the residential burglaries that takes place at times by juvenile. Maybe can open a facility for kids to go and enjoy different sports and games.
It floods in Avoyelles Parish sometimes
