Corvallis is a quaint little town that might be the setting for a typical high school movie. It's a college town that is mainly populated with HP workers or college students. Almost everyone that grows up here leaves. Corvallis is a town full of privileged people that don't know what lies beyond their town borders. We have tons of grocery stores, and some unique shopping opportunities downtown. Almost all of the restaurants are brew pubs with fantastic burgers. Overall Corvallis is a small gem found between Portland and Eugene in the Oregon valley- definitely visit!
Review Corvallis
Corvallis is a great college town. There's plenty of housing options, lots of places to get food, and so much Beaver pride. The town is pretty clean in some spots, but dirty in others. Everywhere is pretty safe as well, but always be on the lookout. There are a few homeless in downtown, but it isn't a major problem. There isn't a whole lot to do, because a lot of the town in kind of industrial and becoming more developed. There is a lot of hiking trails, though. And the community is so tight and very supportive of Oregon State University!
Corvallis has extensive paved bike paths, beautifully colored flowers, an endlessly green ecosystem, and passionately maintained hiking trails. Being a university town, this place emits a love for agriculture, forestry, mycology, marine sciences, fermentation and food sciences, as well as engineering. You will meet intelligent, passionate people here. The bike friendly practices and transportation coalitions are something to model other cities off of. Going to the grocery store, you will see people from many different countries and ethnicities. I do wish that, being such an affluent town, the local legislation would be a bit tougher on their business ethics, raise the minimum wage, and have more programs for the youth and the homeless. Corvallis is growing quickly, and I really hope that this new growth doesn't lead to gentrification, but rather brings a healthy small business atmosphere and a more existent nightlife.
