As a young budding Botanist, there a few places better to immerse yourself in nature than Corvallis. An abundance of mountain landscapes, hiking trails, and nature reserves provide seemingly every native tree, shrub, flower, and mushroom a nature enthusiast could dream for! Located just along the foothills of the Oregon Coastal Mountain Range, the community centers itself around these areas, and on any given beautiful Oregon day you'll find us outside enjoying them. Between the old growth found in McDonald-Dunn forest, to the 200 mile radial views atop Mary's Peak, Corvallis has everything any nature lover would ever need to feel at home.

As a recent current Resident of Corvallis, Oregon, I have been amazed by how amazing this town is. Everybody is so friendly compared to Anchorage, Alaska. Drivers are really nice towards bikers and pedestrians, which is so nice as biking is my main mode of transportation. The food in Corvallis is amazing as well. All different ethnic foods. Also Corvallis has some great volunteer opportunities as well. Including the humane society, and building houses for lower income families. Just two of the many!
Corvallis is a wonderful place. There are many great places to eat, hike, and relax. The library is full of amazing books and very helpful people. The riverfront is beautiful and a lovely place to walk and stroll around the Saturday market. If you're looking for more adventure, there's Mary's Peak close by or Bald Hill to go for hikes. If you have children, there are many parks to go and enjoy. Corvallis has a wonderful pool too, with a fun slide and an outdoor area to relax and soak up sun. The community is very pleasant to be in and there are fun stores to peruse downtown. There are a bowling alley and two movie theaters for rainy days, which there are a lot of!
