A lovely, relatively small town that maintains it's small town feel! It is warm, people are friendly, and there is a good variety of ages, from baby to grandparent. I absolutely love Corte Madera, and it's maintained small town feel! It's got everything you need as well: school from K through 12th, a mall, grocery store, park, and many trails to hike on.

The community I grew up with in Corte Madera is being washed away, which makes my relationship with Corte Madera tender and sad.

It is a very wealthy community except for a small stretch that hugs the 101 Corridor called Central Corte Madera. This part of Corte Madera is in a terrible state of flux due to the real estate market that is washing away old neighborhoods full of renters.

Right now my family and I are being evicted from the house I grew up in. My neighborhood is full of strangers. It breaks my heart.

My experiences growing up in Central Corte Madera are at the root of why I am pursuing a doctorate in Sociology. I want to provide solutions for communities like mine who feel unseen and marginalized.
it is so pretty and just the right number of people. you feel this when you drive out anywhere else and come back to Corte Madera because Corte Madera is so nice and does not have busy streets. further, every time you leave the house everyone is so nice and will have conversations with you. which feels very nice and makes you feel connected. further, since everyone is so health-conscious you tend to become that way too and it feels great.
