Living near the lake is really nice and for all people who are considering moving to the lake should definitely consider this area. Cornelius is a very laid-back suburb with a lot of easy-going people. The traffic can be bad at rush-hour times, which is why it loses a star, but overall is a very nice, upbeat suburban area.

The police are ALWAYS driving around, checking things out, keeping the streets safe. They don't have much to do in the area because it's quite safe. They just ticket speeding drivers (somewhat prevalent) but don't go overboard with it, which is nice because you don't have to worry about dealing with any butthole cops pulling you over for going 48 in a 45 just because they have nothing better to do. They just want to keep the streets as safe as possible. There have been episodes, though, such as the police chase car accident on Jetton last year and the more recent outbreak of car break-ins. People just need to watch what they put in their cars and remain cautious, as many think that they are immune to criminal acts like that because they're in a safe area, when in reality it can happen anywhere.
I moved to the Lake Norman area from South Charlotte, where I lived until I was eight. The Lake Norman area is so different. Everything is within reach, there is always something fun to do with the whole family, from mini-golf or bowling to simply enjoying fresh air in jetton park or window shopping in Birkdale. There are lots of friendly people to meet, and there really is a place for everyone around here. If I were given A chance for a do-over, to go back and grow up in the outskirts of downtown Charlotte, I wouldn't take it.
