Small, friendly home town feel. They have a beautiful clean Air BNB, small motel, affordable housing, 2 local grocery stores and a great fresh produce stand/store. The coastal winds rarely reach inland this far so it usually warmer and great for gardeners. The beach is only 24 minutes away with a beautiful coast line and an assortment of delicious restaurants.
Coquille has the small city charm and friendly people. I lived there for 6 years and loved it. I hope I can return. Once, at the post office, I purchased a book of stamps. The next day I couldn't find them so I went back to the post office to see if I left them on the counter. They told me know that I n had dropped them on the way out and someone returned them to n the counter. They remembered me and were holding them until I returned. That wouldn't happen in b ery many places.
This is a great little town. Lots of friendly people! This is especially a great place to come to retire. The climate is wonderful, in that it is neither too hot nor too cold. You better like rain though because, by golly, we've got a lot of that here.
Coquille is a very small and beautiful town near the coast of Oregon. Since it is so small, everything is very close by. However, there are not many stores or things to do here, so many residents travel to the city of Coos Bay, which is only about 20-30 minutes away. There are many things to do in nature here. There are parks and rivers, and in surrounding towns such as Bandon and Coos Bay, there are beaches one could spend the day at. I love how quiet this town is. I feel safe as a women walking around, but if I were in danger there is usually something nearby I could run to. There aren't many schools here, but from my experience, the students have a lot of team spirit. There are also nearby churches and schools for those who would like a christian community. There are also many stores and small businesses, and even a gym, all with kind people running them.
Coquille is a quiet community that is within 20 minutes of the Pacific Ocean. The weather is generally mild, with summertime highs averaging 75-80 degrees. Winters are generally mild as well. We have had snow only 3 of the last ten years. Being this close to the ocean means we do get our fair share of rainfall, but not as bad as the central and northern Oregon Coast. The population is under 5000. There is 2 grocery stores and a few small retail businesses but to get to the bigger retail chains it is only a 20 mile drive to Coos Bay. The school district offers public education for children 3 years old through high school. Class room sizes are decent.
Coquille is a quaint town nestled in southern Oregon along the coast. We are surrounded by beautifully wooded hills with a short commute to the Pacific beaches. This place is for people who love a moderate climate, seek outdoor adventures, and enjoy a community of very relaxed and easy going people. I moved out here from Chicago looking for a change of pace but also wanting to be within reasonable distance to events in the area. There are great opportunities in this area and nearby. Coquille is definitely worth the time to visit and you may find it a great place to make a permanent home.
I relocated to Coquille, Oregon so that I could finish my education. I have found that this area is for older couples or individuals that would like to or are retired. However, the schools are small and the beach is close by.
This is a great area with all kinds of energy efficient opportunities.
A lot of job opportunities for the right people it all depends on what you like.
97423 has a very small variety of foods.
Overall this area has a lot of different people but everyone gets along with one another. Its like a huge family on campus and the community.
Health & Fitness in this area is phenomenal both outdoors and indoors. Definitely a joyful excising type of place.
