Worst possible place to reside in.........one part-time OEO for years, leaving very many homes that should actually, in essence, be bulldozed. Township has what one might call a "Puppet Master" and she is the supervisor, treasurer, etc. etc. and her "Puppets" on the board, several of whom are firefighters with no experience in local laws but do anything the Puppet Master says. They now, after many years of filing complaints, they have two full-time OEO'S but too late smart. They are in the process of spending millions of taxpayers' money on trying to beautify properties but to no avail. I have owned a legal office in Comstock for 43 years and I have a very large file of grievances, etc. that have been filed. Even within 200 feet of their office, there are properties that are covered with anything you want. The corruption goes on and on and the slum landlords relish in owning properties in the Township. Sad.
Comstock is a small yet busy area. There is always something to do. Close enough to downtown to hit the festivals, or the night life of downtown Kalamazoo. I was born and raised here. I think this is a great family community. Perfect for young families.
I love Comstock. It may not be the greatest, but since I came from Kalamazoo schools and a Kalamazoo neighborhood, I find Comstock to be much safer and nicer.
