Although Commerce is a little out in the country, it is a very beautiful and quiet town. It is so peaceful and everyone you meet is super friendly and inviting. We are only about an hour to Black Rock Mountain State park, and very close by to other state parks. We are also close to Athens. The City of Commerce holds different events year around to bring the community together. For example, our firefighters recently had a Chicken BBQ to raise money, we had a tree lighting ceremony for Christmas, and AMAZING fireworks for the Fourth of July. I moved up here a year ago and I love my new city. I love the quiet and peace. If you are looking for a quiet little country town, then Commerce is definitely the place for you!
Its a small town, but is full of diversity. I like to think in some areas its progressive and in others its majorly lacking. It would be nice to see more areas designated to recreation and places for kids to get out and explore nature. All you'll tend to see here are shopping areas. School systems are good but mainly agricultural based, but that is to be expected in a rural area.
Commerce is just a small town where most everybody knows everybody which is very refreshing and makes it a friendly place to live. The community has gotten more diverse as I've gotten older which has been greta for me now that I am in college. I love the atmosphere of Commerce although there isn't a lot to do, it is a great place to live.
