Commerce Township was a really nice place to grow up in. I never felt unsafe, which I think is important. The local creamy freeze was always a hit, and Beyer's farm is a fantastic place to take pictures! The school system itself is very strong, but as always, there could be better teachers/staff. I have had the privilege of living on the beautiful Huron river. I think the best thing about commerce and the surrounding areas, though, is the plethora of lakes and available water sports and activities. Commerce is also centrally located making it easy to travel to some of the larger, more populated cities around us.

Commerce is a busy burb in Detroit but boasts several lakes, which result in windy roads. There are new and old homes in Commerce ranging in wealth. There are limited big-box restaurants; there are more mom and pop places, diners, and micro-pubs. Commerce has a MEAT MARKET! Very rare to find a great meat market. They also have ample pet stores within a two mile radius as well as vet clinics. There is a liquor store on every corner. The main grocer is Kroger with WalMart, Meijer, and Target further out. Commerce is a convenient gateway to the interstates, northern town in Oakland County, and convenient to the tri-county area as well as the City of Detroit.
Great community, central to night life, work, can’t beat all the inland lakes and like life.
I’ve in commerce is reasonable, great up and coming neighborhoods and entertainment districts. Not city life but would compare it to living in the country yet only 5-10 min from everything you need!
