Colusa Reviews

The town is very small with very little to do. The only good thing is the burger joint (Jeff's Freezette). The majority of people here are very unapologetically bigoted; they constantly use slurs when referring to people who aren't white or male.
The scenery is beautiful though, you just have to ignore the general population. I will definitely miss the sheer amount of trees once I move away.

Growing up in Colusa I can't say much has changed in the last 28 years, but honestly I kind of like it that way. My favorite part of this town is the consistency. Knowing I'll see just about everyone I know uptown at our only grocery store around five thirty every evening as well as knowing they're all going to stop and talk to you or at least wave. Besides the people Colusa is one of the best places to keep you busy outside wether it's hunting and fishing or even just floating along the river it never seems like there's nothing to do.
I love coming from my small farm town where everyone knows everyone by their first name. Growing up I had teachers that also taught my parents. Coming from such a strong agriculture town I really grew to appreciate where my food comes from and how hard people had to work to get it to my plate. After I finish college I most definitely plan on staying there and one day raising my own family right there in Colusa. We have an old fashioned movie theater in town that almost went out of business because of out dated technology and it was truly amazing how the community got together to raise money for the new equipment. You just can't go to a city and see the love and support you see in Colusa, CA.
