Horrible city to live in!! Smells bad, has daily shootings. Would not recommend moving here to anyone!! Cost of living is outrageous as well and most of the schools are either terrible or completely overrated. Move elsewhere!
I moved to Columbus in 2015 from Texas for a job transfer. I have lived in several other large cities (Houston, Dallas, Atlanta), and will tell you that Columbus is one of the most car dependent and unhealthy cities I have been to. Sprawl is a huge issue in this city, this place reminds me more of urban New Jersey, a concrete jungle and very flat. There is a dated bus line that services most of the city, but will take you eons to reach your destination. Crime is another big issue here, Columbus has one of the highest assault and murder rates, especially near OSU campus area. Culture and food options are very limited, fast food and bar culture are abundant. Life here really revolves around college sports and drinking, and not much else.
there were flying people t posing out my window, could not even play Jenga.
avoid Ohio at all costs.
avoid Ohio at all costs.
Is there a large scale of corruption all the way up to the FBI in Columbus, Ohio I've been hearing a lot from the local residents that it is and it's been going on for quite sometime?
Wow! This is a tough question, growing up I remember loving my city with the bright lights at night and the tall buildings. As I grew up it became a scary place to be, even sitting in your home is scary. There is stray bullets flying, missing kids, neglected children. The sad part is it is not only my city that is going through this, the world is falling apart piece by piece everyday, and all we can do is pray and thank God for allowing us to see another day.
As a native of Columbus for 62 years, I can say it's an ugly, boring, crime ridden, stick in the mud,
Growing up in Columbus was a nice experience because there's a large population and people from all different types of backrounds and it's a nice area to live in.
I've lived in Columbus for 6 years. I absolutely hate it. This is truly the most racist city I've ever lived. It's ugly and boring. You meet the same type of person constantly. It's really oppressive. It forced my to start my own business, which I'm now moving elsewhere. Glad to be leaving.
Horrible city. Tons of expensive luxury apartments. Not enough cheap and AFFORDABLE houses, condos, and apartments. I rented a STUDIO apartment in Dublin/Columbus and it was $800 a month. Not even a full size refrigerator. NOT WORTH IT. Run out of this expensive crappy city. You need to make it more affordable for people to live there. Stop putting up expensive apartments. I WILL NEVER LIVE PAYCHECK TO PAYCHECK EVER AGAIN!!!!
I always recommend clients to not move here. There is a lot of crime in Columbus. We always feel unsafe here and it is only getting worse. The smaller towns in Ohio are much better because of less crime and similar conveniences. I would NOT recommend this place. You can find better.
I want to know where this website gets their data, Columbus public schools is not a B- rating. It consistently gets an F report rating and in 2019 finally got bumped to a D.
I don’t like it here at all. The crime rate is the worst in the state of Ohio and this place is drug infested.
Not a fan of this city at all. Building nonstop is not necessary a good thing. Tearing down history and building modern buildings is Columbus in a nutshell. Don’t forget, the crime is about the worst in the entire state of Ohio. Look elsewhere.
The crime rate in Columbus is absolutely terrible! Traffic is always horrible! A lot of eye sore cookie cutter homes. I would recommend a smaller town with some actual charm.
I would like to see all of the violence and tough times end. and I like how people stand up for one another when it is time for everyone to do so.
Not a fan of Columbus. Wish that Columbus had more transit options. Also wish that Columbus had more options of affordable housing in the downtown area. The road pavement in Columbus is really bad. The whole city need to repave all of the roads in and around the downtown area.
Columbus like all Ohio municipalities has taxation without representation and is corrupt and subversive. It is only one of two states where the state runs the workers comp system to the benefit of the employer. They give tax abatements to businesses that are run by white collar criminals pushing your taxes higher. One of two states with a mayors court system where they shakedown and profile non residents. The stratification of wealth is due to a corrupt court system where the rich go free and rip you off with the two biggest banks disappearing after numerous frauds published nationally. (Bank One and National City). John Kasich is the consummate Ohio politician who continued to run for President so he could collect more bribes and planned to wrestle away the nomination against the will of the people and planned to broker a win overthrowing what everyone wanted. He then flew around networking with international bodies to further an agenda of taxation without representation.
