Columbus is beautiful! NO doubt about it! If you're from the south though you will be called racist and be discriminated against. I have had three jobs. Two of three treated me differently once coworkers learned where i was from. I had to defend who i am just as a person. Very judgeMENTAL. Thought this place was going to be my heaven on earth and was sadly wrong. The hospital and school food is just shamefully disgusting. The only good thing really is most jobs are at least $12/hr starting out.
Columbus is a hidden jewel with its diversity, all around beautiful architecture, low housing prices, decent schools, and economic flow. Because of large companies residing here such as Cummins, a rich diversity and economic stability reside here. It also has its historical monuments, downtown artistic features, buildings, and unique styled homes in several neighborhoods which still come at a great price. I've been a student in several of the schools here and while there is a variety in the quality, as a future teacher I am highly considering working here because I liked many of the schools so much. All in all, a great place to work, raise a family, and experience community.
I absolutely love living in Columbus. There are many ups and many downs. The ups of living here is that it's not a really big city but it's bigger than most! People from surrounding areas come to Columbus just to shop or even have dinner! Columbus is known for its architecture so you can just imagine how pretty it is! Something that could make Columbus way better would be adding a Raising Canes because that place is just too good.
