Colrain is perhaps one of the most beautiful places to live, but anywhere you live here it's a 30 minute commute to get anywhere. There's not much to do here except pick apples, but we do have a restaurant, a gas station, and an elementary school. It's a great place to run and go biking (if you don't mind hills).

Living in Colrain for five years I have come to the conclusion that it is a nice small town best suited for individuals who enjoy the quiet outdoors. Just like any other town some areas are better than others. Personally I would stay away from living near the center of town; to much small town politics for my liking. As a young lady I find it slightly frustrating that there is no nightlife nor much to do in town. I believe this town is best suited for individuals who are looking to enjoy a beautiful view without the loud noises that come from living in a more populated area. Colrain is also a wonderful place to live if you are an outdoorsman who enjoys open fields for hunting. Overall Colrain is a small town with a beautiful view and a rich history however it is lacking in entertainment that other towns have.
Beautiful and friendly town, neighbors and town officials very helpful. I was pulled out of a ditch by deputy fire chief during an ice storm, even drive my car back down the mountain for me.
