Cold Spring is a great town with many great amenities. It had many community events such as movie screenings along the Hudson River in the summer months, fireworks for Independence Day, a Halloween parade, and more. Many options for shopping, dining, and living as well as the numerous nature preserves and trails in the surrounding area. A new art museum dedicated to Italian opened up about two years ago which is another great addition to the town. Also, great for commuting to the city in an hour and 15 minutes. The only downside for me is the lack of diversity and affordability.

Cold Spring is beautiful. The village is safe and friendly, the high school is excellent, with great clubs and a really fantastic theater program. The whole area is gorgeous, as the town sits on the Hudson River and there are big parks in the immediate area with gorgeous hiking trails.
The very small high school can be a little cliquey and small town, which can be unpleasant, but the advantages of being known and knowing your teachers and staff overcome that. The school support staff is wonderful, especially the social worker.
I grew up in the area, and went to High school at Haldane. It's a beautiful small town on the Hudson, with a love for the arts and historic preservation. A very family friendly town with an up incoming nightlife not to far away in towns like Beacon or Peekskill. Not much to do in town other than antiquing or going for hikes but it is a beautiful area. Only about an hour and a half train ride away to New York City.
