I have really enjoyed living in Cohoes. We have access to a state park as well as a wonderful walking path. The main part of town isn't very well kept, but they are trying to make it look better which I can appreciate. There are many events held throughout the summer months which are an added bonus!

Overall, the city is small and welcoming. The city does definitely lack a "community feel", although, it is very family-orientated. Families with young kids are often very welcomed because of the schooling options we have here. Recently, during the spring, summer and fall, there are many family-oriented programs, opportunities and events to try and help families come together to build a "community culture". When faced with devastation, like the downtown fire that took about five homes from earlier this year, the city tends to come together to support and help those faced with hard times.
So far I have had a really lovely time living in Cohoes. I do often hear fire trucks/police cars around our area, but the spot that I am in is quite quiet and the people are friendly. I aways feel safe!
