I have lived in Coal City my entire life, and although it is a sleepy little town, it will always be a huge part of my identity. School spirit is evident all over town, and the small atmosphere of this town is truly comforting. The community is incredibly supportive, especially in times of need. With any small town it comes with cliques, but you eventually learn to ignore it and move past it. Great place to raise a family.

It's a small, safe, commuter community. Most of the residents work out of town. The school district is great.
It is a small town with little to offer. There are a few good restaurants and a grocery store. Some of the town is run down due to past tornados. It is someplace I plan on leaving once I'm in college.
