This area is growing, but many people new to this area have moved from other parts of IA and already have established friend groups. It is very hard to connect to people here as an out of state newcomer. Most are set in their ways and not willing to accept people who don't fit their mold. There is a pretty obvious lack of individuality and creativity. Get ready to see a lot of the color white for houses/cars. We live in a new construction neighborhood and have watched in dismay as 80% of the houses are painted white. How boring! We've just chalked it up to people being very insecure. Iowans are the worst drivers. They seem to be opposed to blinker use. They take forever to accelerate at lights, but then ride your bumper when you are already going 5 over the speed limit. Cell phone use while driving is an absolute epidemic here. Also, IA does NOT have reciprocity with surrounding states for college tuition. If you have kids who want to attend college this could be a deal breaker!

Clive is an excellent city to live in. Close to everything. The Waukee school district is amazing! Always growing and the teachers are great. Also, Mission Fitness is an excellent gym located minutes from Clive. Awesome classes for all ages and skill levels! The coaches are so motivating and push you to be your best self!
I grew up in Clive all of my life! Clive is a part of the West Des Moines Community School District, the best district in Iowa. Clive is family friendly and a quiet place to live. The cost of living is affordable and has many opportunities for careers.
