It's a pretty standard small town, about 15-20 minutes from Wichita.
Pros: Virtually no crime, quiet, very affordable, schools are good, and people tend to be friendly (though some can be ignorant and judgmental, as previous reviews have noted).
Cons: Almost no diversity (if you're white, Christian, and conservative, you'll love it here), little job opportunities and things to do since it's so small and rural, and the longer commute can get tiring after awhile.

Small towns are nice, but they come with their own problems. This isn't the place to live if you value privacy. Since everyone knows everyone, anyone they don't know is considered untrustworthy until they are known. If there is juicy gossip, it spreads like wildfire regardless of whether or not it is true. There has even been an occasion where a prominent member of the community sent mass-mailings to the town anonymously to badmouth another resident. So yeah, that's the kind of small town Clearwater is. There is low crime, low opportunities for local employment, limited opportunities for kids in the school district, and virtually no diversity.
I love the fact that it is a tight knit community. This is a town where you wave at one another, even if you don't know them! Everyone is very polite, and would most likely help you with whatever you need.
