Clay Center is like most small towns in Nebraska. There is not a lot to do and it takes a while to get anywhere. As for the people, they are very kind and polite, but they tend to gossip and clique.
I f I had the option to live here again I would decline the offer. I love small towns but we all seemed divided here in Clay Center. People are very judgmental whether your children go to Harvard or Sandy Creek. It was hard at first after the school shut down but no its not bad!
There really isn't any major crime in town. The police are reliable- depending who you get. The sheriff is only about himself, he doesn't like to do anything unless it gives him a good name and unfortunately he's not there when you need him most.
