I’ve lived in Clawson for four years. Moved from three acres in Troy after my girls graduated from Troy High. I love th small town atmosphere but have a major major issue with the rat population. On average I see 3-5 rats a day in my yard.
I called the city about this over a year ago, the “old” lady came out and seen the rat holes, took pictures, was supposed to investigate by asking my neighbors if they had an issue as I did and get back with me on a solution! ?????? Never happened. I own a 1,000 sq ft ranch and pay just shy of $3,500. What in God’s name do they do with our tax $??????? I am so embarrassed when family are over and they witness rats running under, over the fence and through my yard. Ready to sell ASAP! Appalling!
In my years of living on 3 acres in Troy, I never saw a rat, neither did anyone of the parents I frequently corresponded with.
This is just unacceptable!
Shame on Clawson.
I won’t even mention the high water bill😡

I've lived here over 20 years, and in the beginning Clawson was a good place to live. A lot of rednecks, so you're not going to see a lot of diversity, but you have to deal with idiots no matter where you go. Under Mayor Penny Luebs, Clawson got better, but the city has become more and more fascist since the new city council took over. This place also is not clean, I've lost two dogs to cancer here. I'm out of here ASAP.
I love the small town feel yet all the amenities you wold ever need are within a few mile radius. Clawson is also a perfect distance from Downtown Detroit and is close to other cool areas like Royal Oak, Birmingham, and Ferndale. The people are friendly and the neighborhood is quiet and well-maintained.
