Overall I really enjoy living in this area. I like my local church and love my job. I like Antique Alley, a section of town with antique store and boutiques. We have lots of town spirit.
The only airport here is pretty small and usually more expensive, but it's not too bad to drive to Jackson or Dallas to catch a flight. There are virtually no sidewalks along the winding, curvy roads so it's dangerous for pedestrians. And what few streets do have street signs are impossible to find/read.
Depending on which area you live in, the housing situation can be really good. If you live in downtown Monroe or some of the lower-income sections, the houses can get pretty run down, but most areas are family friendly and nice.
