Working in Cicero
My experience living here in Illinois, has been great to me! I been living here since I was born, I am currently 24 years old. My neighborhood is very quite and with many elderly people. My neighbors are very kind and have manners. The town of Cicero always has different events throughout the year, for kids to go to. It’s pretty cool because they have days at the park with blow up balloons and face painting and music as well. The only thing I would want to see a change is violence in Chicago there is a lot of that and that is very scary to be around, thank god I live in Cicero.
I like how i feel around my neighborhood. I am a hispanic person and the neighborhood in where i live is primarily hispanic, therefore we all feel like family and help each other out when we need it. There are times where the community will clash and not agree with certain changes that the town decides on but we sometimes make it work or just try and slowly ease up to the changes. One thing that has really improved in this neighborhood is safety. Peoples safety is actually a priority and is taken seriously now. Years ago i would travel to this neighborhood when i wasn’t a resident; it was dangerous being out at night but now that i live here and converse with my neighbors we all agreed that the neighborhood has changed for the better.
What I currently like about my current township is the police department. The police presence makes me feel safe, from the uniform police officers that patrol the township in their marked squad cars to the undercover police officers that patrol the same areas only in unmarked squad cars. The detectives that also work for the township are also a big part of serving and protecting. Their clearance rates are pretty good from what I've heard and researched.
