I like the friendly nature of Chillicothe, and the small town, everybody knows everybody mindset. It is filled with many unique historical markers, and supports many unique local businesses. A change I would like to see come to Chillicothe is more diversity, in food and shopping. It seems very redundant in those areas. There is no cultural diversity. Another change I would like to see come to Chillicothe is more educational opportunities, such as scholarships and grants for local students, in the rural community. I feel we as local students are not given as much opportunity as those in the cities. We do not qualify for much considering we are average. I believe it is not fair to rural students considering our lack of opportunity. We are forced to pay more for the same education just because of our geography.
Nice downtown with plenty to do; more shopping on nearby Bridge St; a few playgrounds in the area. The services are good too, with many public libraries, clinics, a musical instrument repair shop and a bike repair shop to name a few. There is also a great farmers' market that runs year-round! The down sides are some shady characters hanging around and some crime, as I hear sirens almost every night downtown.
Chillicothe is fine for people looking for jobs or looking to settle down. Their really isn’t much do to do other than bowling and maybe a the movie theaters. If your looking for a candy shop you can look at Grampa Joes candy store. There are a tone of shops like Gabes or Rue 21 ,or if your looking for a cheaper place 5 below is there. Their are a lot of places to eat such as Olive Garden or Texas Roadhouse. You can shop for a new or used car at Nourse , or the Chevy lot in Chillicothe. There’s a lot to do if your not a child in Chillicothe, other than that it’s a great city.
