Checotah Reviews
Rating 2.95 out of 5 20 reviews
I've been living in Checotah for about 10 years. I would consider it a small town. There's really not much to do around here. The most you can do is go to the park, track, bowling alley, library, or go somewhere to eat. I can say the most fun thing around here would probably have to be the Dollar Tree, or Taco Bell. The schooling system is not all that great. Considering this is a small town, its more of who knows who kind of thing. The teachers aren't really that great either, there are some good ones but it's few and far between. Also, considering that businesses are always closing down around here I would say that job opportunity isn't all that great.
This small town of Checotah has its ups and downs, just like any other town in the United States. I grew up in this town, and the things I loved about being here was the small community. No matter where I went I felt safe. From kindergarten to our senior year in high school, I was with the same 60 classmates, we forged a bond that not a lot of bigger city kids get to experience I would love to see a few things change, for example, there is literally nothing to do in this town; other than walk around Wal-Mart. There is no night life, no after school programs, no community activities, and barely any jobs.
Checotah is a small, close knit town where everybody knows everybody. The local restaurants are wonderful, and the people here are so sweet. The schools are okay, but often under-funded.
