Of course I would rate my home town 5 stars! Not only is Chauvin my last name ;Chauvin is town all the way at the bottom of the Louisiana boot. Really, the town is more a road on each side of bayou Pètè Calliou . Most the men and shrimpermen. And most women stay at home with the kids. Typical small town girl, thats me . Fishing is a must in my town. So grab ya poles and come on down da bayou chà!

It really depends. If I lived elsewhere, I would honestly not move to Chauvin. However, being a long time resident, it truly is a tight-knit community. If you are a minority, maybe this isn't the best place to live. If you love working in the seafood industry then Chauvin is truly for you. Most of the people here are much older now and are very nice, but there are some outliers that truly give Chauvin a bad wrap.
I was born and raised in South Louisiana in the town of Chauvin. Our town is a very small town where everyone knows everyone. I would like to see more resources become available for the poverty stricken families in my area, as there are resources but there are hard to obtain.
