Two areas the town could improve in are becoming more walkable and providing public transportation options. There are too many neighborhoods without sidewalks. This is dangerous, especially for children commuting to school by foot, and it makes people rely on cars in cases they wouldn't need to. On the other hand, increasing sufficient public transportation/ride shares could potentially deter drunk driving and help low-income residents get to long-distance commutes to work, grocery stores, clinics, etc.
A very small and tight knit community with welcoming people and deep history. While there are some fair sights, there’s limited entertainment for the community building-wise. Summer time is better with many fairs and events downtown and some great places to eat, but you may struggle to stay busy, especially with younger kids
I love Chambersburg because it is very eclectic. The population is diverse which means the small and local business people are also diverse. The town itself is beautiful, and the residents the pride in where they live. It is a safe and welcoming community.
