Overall Central, SC is an okay place to live. It is primarily occupied by Clemson and SWU students. It is a very small town with not much around it; however, it is relatively close to Clemson, Easley, and Anderson, which have anything that someone might need. It is very safe and family-friendly. It is a great place to live with kids.
Central is mostly a small town near the railroad tracks, but its downtown has some great food and its close enough to Clemson that it is easy to get there but you do not have to deal with all of the college traffic. Central has a nice library, rec center, and is just down the street from SWU with public access to a track, tennis courts, and mountain biking/hiking trails.
During my time of living in Central, SC I’ve experienced the true meaning of how to live like a college student from my time of attending school, however the downfall to living in central is lack of housing, and high prices. Fellow college students and myself who attend and are seeking to attend Clemson University would benefit to more housing developments and lower housing costs!
