Cedar Mill Reviews
Cedar Mill is a suburb within the Portland Metro area with various shops and eateries–franchises and locally-owned– that offer hospitable services. Almost everywhere has bike lanes and is in walkable distance. Although the weather remains rather wet, dreary, and dull throughout the fall, winter, and part of springtime, the temperature may reach upwards of 90° during the summer! If one were to live anywhere in Oregon, especially the city of Portland, I wholeheartedly recommend this area because of its quaintness, central location within Portland, and its abundance of attractions such as ponds, forests, hiking trails, night life, and rivers. In addition, it is located only an hour from the Oregon coast and approximately an hour and a half from Mt. Hood. Overall, great town to have grown up in, I will cherish it forever!
Good walkability, a lot of trees and parks, easy to find grocery stores, pet stores, Home Depot, close to other large box stores when needed. Several decent restaurants around. Very close to Sunset Transit Center and freeway interchanges, so easy to get downtown or to other parts of the local PDX area. Real estate prices are very high in Cedar Mill area, even condos are pretty expensive. We rent, and our rent is slightly less than the close-in Portland area, which is why we moved here. We're able to get everywhere we want easily and our apartment doesn't break the bank. We're a close drive to Forest Park and not far from the Banks-Vernonia bike/running trail, both of which we use a lot. Cedar Hills marketplace is nearby, with a Winco, Powell's Books and other big stores. There's a great Market of Choice right here in Cedar Mill.
I like Cedar Mill there are a lot of things close like restaurants, walking trails, grocery stores and close distance to downtown or a public max station. The community is well kept by the shops and housing such as garbage, landscaping and appeal. I feel better when I live in a place that is well kept and people have pride in where they live.
