Cape Elizabeth Reviews
Rating 4.24 out of 5 25 reviews
The town portrays itself as a progressive and forward-thinking community, but this is very much not the case. It is clear that a vocal majority of residents would like to never see anyone but those who drive expensive cars and have lots of money sitting around living in "their" town. This is their number one priority, and they will fight tooth and nail to make sure it happens. Not a place I would recommend you live. Maine has many great places, this is not one of them. Public schools are ok, nothing really all that special, schools like these can be found elsewhere. The attitude of the town is very toxic. I would think twice before moving here.
Magical and engaging place just outside of Portland. We have been part of the fabric of this town for almost twenty years and while we live in Boston, this place feels like home. The demographics of the Portland area have certainly changed in the last twenty years and Cape Elizabeth is no different in this regard. While the town is on the affluent spectrum, it is highly tolerant and accepting of all. Definitely worth the visit to experience the buzz.
Scenic and amazing community. The people are amazingly friendly and the fresh air is to die for. The weather is always perfect; not too hot, not too cold - as long as you're not visiting in the winter months! The schools are the best in maine, and the kindness of your neighbors can not go unnoticed.
