Canyon Lake is a beautiful and lovely place to live. It IS a town that thrives on the summer and tourism. Many folks that have decided to retire here are in abundance. Because it is rural, it is sometimes difficult to receive the amenities that others have access to. The schools are wonderful! But again, because it is rural, students have long commutes or bus rides. In this county, ROTC is absolutely wonderful and provides direction for young persons deciding career paths. This has wealth and poverty within the lake based on locale. With poverty comes sadness and drugs. But the local communities have an excellent reputation for help through food banks, activities, churches and resources!
I love this town, community, and beauty!

Living at Canyon Lakes was pretty good when it was first being built, but as time went on the homeowner association wasn't doing the best job, the area made the houses lose value. Overall the neighborhood is pretty quite and many neighbors mind their own business.
It's a very safe area filled with friendly people. It's close to the newly constructed Town Lake Boardwalk, which is a great place to hang out with family and friends.
