I most love Canby because the commute time is great, even if there is traffic, it only takes about 10 to go anywhere. Another thing I like are the restaurants. Even though it is a small town, I think we have some great food options. Mexican, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, family friendly restaurants, fast food. Honestly this town has a lot of great qualities, it is a good size for families with not to much of the city life. One thing I would like to see change is having a rink being put in. I think it would attract people during the summer for skateboarding or roller skating and then during winter, it could be iced over so that people could ice skate. This would benefit the town because it would attract people of all ages.

Canby is essentially a safe small town but there are some problems the water is either musty or is full of bleach, bleach being used for the treatment of the musty water. There are rolling brown outs because the electrical grid is overloaded and the schools are not as highly rated as they used to be . They need to handle the people and their needs that live there before they move in any more.
Canby is a fairly small town which is nice. Even though we are only 30 minutes from Portland it feels like we are in a small town where most people are familiar with each other. We have a community 4th of July parade, Christmas tree lighting in the park, 3 on 3 basketball tournaments, and other great community events.
We are also a diverse community, which I love. Approximately 30% of our residents are Spanish speaking. I was fortunate enough to be able to attend Canby’s first bilingual program grades K-8. I am completely bilingual and graduated with my seal of biliteracy from the state!
I love that my town includes all its residents in education, activities, business, and we help each other when in need. I am proud to live in Canby, Oregon. We are kind of like a great big family!!
