Cameron Park Reviews
Cameron Park is a great place to raise a family with safe, quiet neighborhoods and good schools. The town has excellent proximity to nature areas and recreational opportunities. Traffic is limited to non-existence depending on how far away you work and in what direction you are traveling the highway. Job opportunities within the city are limited, but opportunists in the greater Sacramento Area abound and is within a 45 minute drive.
I was raised in Cameron Park and have lived in the Cameron Park/Shingle Springs area for 25 years. I moved away after college for about 5 years and in that time I lived in El Dorado Hills, Folsom, Rancho Cordova, and back to El Dorado Hills. We decided to sell our last house and move back to Cameron Park. The grocery stores aren't crowded, the traffic is mild, and the people are the best part!!! Cameron Park has some of the nicest and most friendly people in the whole greater-Sacramento area. The parks are beautiful, being above the smog line means the air is fresher, and the schools are amazing! You don't have to deal with many snobs/faux riche like neighboring EDH and you don't have to deal with many (if any) "city problems." Most everyone in the community emits a very small town vibe. I love it here, and while no place is perfect, this place is definitely special. Could not be more thrilled with the decision to re-establish our roots in this all-american town.
I have lived in Cameron Park my entire life. Despite it being a pretty small town, it's the perfect location; around an hour away from the mountains and a couple of hours from the ocean. It is clean and safe, and has several good schools in the area. The people are friendly and there isn't too much crime that I know of. Wouldn't change anything about it. It's a wonderful place to live, dare I say, a "special place to live."
